Roy Dillard - Vic Smither - Ronnie Allen

Vic Smither died April 29. Vic was featured in the book Church Aflame (Jerry Falwell and Elmer Towns, Nashville: Impact Books, 1971) that told the story of people won to the Lord through what became known as saturation evangelism. Vic was led to salvation in Jesus Christ by Roy Dillard (March 18, 1932 - November 18, 2009) a co-worker at B & W Nuclear Engineering, also featured in Church Aflame. While Roy was alive, Vic would call him every year on the anniversary of his new birth in Christ, to thank him.

Featured in the book as well is the story of Ronnie Allen (August 28, 1932-August 26, 2011), a salesman at Craddock-Terry Shoe Manufacturing in Lynchburg in that time span. Roy Dillard and Ronnie Allen were faithful in the Steadfast Bible Class, and their memory is called to mind now, at Vic Smither's passing.

All these are great examples of lives being impacted for Christ through faithful witnessing to the saving power of Jesus Christ. Examples for each of us to follow: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20).
